Story: “Trumpet of joy”

Once upon a time, there was a village. And in this village there was a trumpet.

And when someone listened to the trumpet, this person felt happy.

One day, the trumpet was ver angry,and left the village.

Her best friend Amelia and her violin went to find the trumpet.

When they were together, Amelia played the violin and the trumpet smiled and felt happy.

Amelia, her violin and the trumpet came back to the village.

The people were happy and all together lived happy forever after.

Story "Mr. Shapes"

Once upon a time, the puppet Mr. Shapes realized he was different from everyone else.

He had misplaced some of the body parts: a foot in place of the hand, an eye in the mouth, an ear on his arm and nose in the foot.

Day after day, he was looking for someone who could help put the body parts disordered in place.

Could you help him? (Ask to children)

[When Mr. Shapes is totally misplaced, you will tell the end of the story].

Mr. Shapes want to thank you because now he is happy and he always looks in the mirror and see a huge smile on his face.

Art and craft:

Fingers and toes are often used to help children count, but this craft allows for fun while learning using your appendages. Give each child a large piece of paper so they have enough space to trace both of their hands or feet and number them. Instruct the children to trace either their hands or feet, helping or asking fellow children for help if necessary. Label each finger with a number as children count how many fingers or toes they have. Make the craft more fun by allowing them to decorate their hands as desired.

While the children are drawing they will hear the song “This is me!”

Games

Game: Duck, Duck, Goose!

Number of kids: Any.

How the game is played: Everyone sits in a circle on the floor. One person is the "goose" and the rest are the "ducks." The goose walks around the outside of the circle, patting each duck on the head and saying "Duck." The player touches someone's head and says, "Goose!" The tagged duck gets up and chases the goose around the circle. The goose tries to get back around to the empty seat and sit down before being tagged. If successful, the goose rejoins the seated ducks and the new goose now starts the game again. If the first goose is tagged, he or she sits in the center of the circle as the game goes on. As more people get tagged, the circle gets tighter and the chase gets tighter! The last person standing is the goose.

Tips for adults: This game can be played indoors or out, but if you're inside, make sure the room is safe for running kids. Although this can be a competitive game, keep the mood light by asking everyone to quack like a duck (or honk like a goose) and waddle like a duck. Try different animals and practice their sounds and walks while playing.

What the game teaches: Taking turns, listening, and large motor skills.

Game: Obstacle Course

Number of kids: Any.

How the game is played: Transform your yard or living room into a free-for-all obstacle course. First, remove unsafe objects from the room (tables with sharp edges, for example) and clear out clutter that someone could trip on. Then place piles of cushions, sturdy chairs, laundry baskets, or other items around the room for the kids to romp over, under, or through. A large cardboard box, if you have one, can become an excellent tunnel.

Tips for adults: Put on some music to encourage moving around.

What the game teaches: Motor skills and problem solving.

Game: What Time Is It, Mister Fox?

Number of kids: Any.

How the game is played: The kids gather on one side of the space and the adult (Mister Fox) stands on the other side. The adult gives a signal and the kids say, "What time is it, Mister Fox?" Mister Fox says, "It's time to hop!" The kids hop toward Mister Fox until he gives the signal to stop. Repeat this, substituting different movements (skipping, crawling, walking backwards) until kids draw near to Mister Fox. As the kids near Mister Fox and ask the question, the last answer he gives is "It's midnight!" At this point, he pretends to chase them all back to the other side of the room. The game can then start again.

Tips for adults: You don't have to be Mister Fox! You could be Sleepy Bear, Grouchy Grandma, Big Baby, or another character that kids might like. Also, get creative with the movements. Kids love to be silly with their bodies. Say, "It's time to walk with one finger on your nose and one on your belly button!"

What the game teaches: Listening, following directions, and large motor skills.

If you're planning an afternoon of fun, choose a mix of activities — some active and some quiet. Also be on the lookout for kids who take too many turns and those shy kids who don't get their rightful turns.

After you've been playing a while, be aware of the group's mood. Are they getting tired or cranky? You'll have a more successful party or play date if you catch the kids before they get too worn out. When weariness sets in, respond with a quiet activity, like you reading a book aloud. And no matter what the mood, a snack is always a welcome break for preschoolers!

Fairytale "GingerBread Man"

An old woman was baking one day and she made some gingerbread. She had some dough left over and she made the shape of a little man. She made eyes for him, a rose and a smiling mouth, all of currants and placed some more down his front to look like buttons. Then she laid him on a baking tray and put him in the oven to bake.

After a little while, she heard something rattling at the oven door. She opened it and to her surprise out jumped the little Gingerbread man she had made. She tried to catch him as he ran across the kitchen but he slipped past her, calling as he ran:

'Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me. I’m the Gingerbread man.'

She chased after him into the garden where her husband was digging. He put down his spade and tried to catch him too but as the Gingerbread man sped past him he called over his shoulder:

'Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me. I’m the Gingerbread man.'

As he ran past the road, he passed a cow. The cow called out: “Stop Gingerbread man. You look good to eat!” But the gingerbread man laughed and shouted over his shoulder ran:

'I’ve run from an old woman and an old man. Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me. I’m the Gingerbread man.'

The cow ran after the old woman and the old man and soon they all passed a horse. “Stop!” called out the horse, 'I’d like to eat you!'

But the Gingerbread man called out:

'I’ve run from an old woman and an old man and a cow Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me. I’m the Gingerbread man. '

He ran on with the old woman and the old man and the cow and the horse following. And he went past a party of people hay making. They all looked up as they saw the Gingerbread man and as he passed them he called out:

'I’ve run from an old woman and an old man. Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me. I’m the Gingerbread man.

The hay makers joined in the chase, behind the old woman and the old man and the cow and the horse and they all followed him as he ran through the fields. There he met a fox. So he called out to the fox:

'I’ve run from an old woman and an old man. Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me. I’m the Gingerbread man.'

But the sly fox said: 'why should I bother to catch you (although he thought to himself: that Gingerbread man would be good to eat.) Just after he had run past the fox, the Gingerbread man had to stop, because he came to a wild deep swift flowing river. The fox saw the old woman and the old man and the cow and the horse and the hay makers all chasing the Gingerbread man. So he said:

'Jump on my back and I’ll take you across the river'.

The Gingerbread man jumped on the fox’s back and the fox began to swim. As they reached the middle of the river, where the water was deep, the fox said:

'Can you stand on my head Gingerbread man or you will get wet.'

So the Gingerbread man pulled himself up and stood on the fox’s head. As the current flowed more swiftly, the fox said:

'Can you move onto my nose Gingerbread man, so I can carry you more safely? I would not like you to drown. '

The Gingerbread man slid onto the fox’s nose, but when he reached the bank of the river, the fox suddenly went « snap! ». The Gingerbread man disappeared into the fox’s mouth and was never seen again.
